You are looking for the all natural, non-toxic, allergy-free mattress? There are so many mattress options out there, how to choose the right one? Not all mattresses are manufactured equally. Where is a difference between organic mattress and conventionally-constructed mattress. First of all you should know all possible hazards associated with conventionally-constructed mattresses. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has listed formaldehyde as a “probable human carcinogen,” while the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified formaldehyde as “carcinogenic to humans” based on nose and throat cancers in working populations. Formaldehyde is illegal ingredient in EU.

Phthalates are found in Polyvinyl Chloride Plastic (PVC). Phathalates are added to the most of the everyday goods, including conventional mattresses. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), eating, breathing, skin contact are probably the main routes by which humans are contaminated with diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), the most widely used phthalate plasticizer. Recently, the National Toxicology Program (NTP) expressed concern over the adverse development of babies born to pregnant women who take in DEHP at the normal levels estimated for an adult. They also expressed concern that male infants and toddlers who substantially exceed adult DEHP intake estimates could suffer problems in their reproductive system and brain development. Fire Retardants are chemicals which are usually sprayed on conventional mattresses, beds, sofas and other furniture and appliances in order to delay these product ignition in case of fire.From day to day we accumulate those chemicals in our bodies more and more. They are probable carcinogens and have been found to be mutagens and endocrine disruptions.
